Stoke Gifford Branch member Lee Bushby laid a wreath on behalf of the Stoke Gifford Branch at the Thiepval Memorial for the hundredth anniversary of the Somme.

Meanwhile The Stoke Gifford Branch of the Royal British Legion, which covers Little Stoke, Stoke Gifford, Bradley Stoke and Filton, held a service at the Stoke Gifford War Memorial at 7.28 am on the morning of the 1st July 2016, to mark the hundredth Anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

At 07.28 RBL members and members of the public observed the national two minutes silence, and at 07.30 whistles were blown to mark the Anniversary.
