The Poppy Appeal in Essex
Each year, in early November some 30,000 Legion volunteers take to the streets with poppies and collecting boxes, raising millions of pounds for the Poppy Appeal.
May figures show that Essex has raised a staggering £1,343,792.18 so far with this years appeal not concluding till 30th September 18. Thank you to everyone who has donated and volunteered.
The money collected during the Remembrance Period and from numerous other fundraising activities throughout the year, goes to providing help and support to serving and ex-Service men and women and their dependants.
Poppy Organisers
We always need new volunteers to assist with Poppy Appeal collecting in Essex.
Without volunteer collectors out there on the streets, without appeal organisers planning the collections, this great cause - that helps thousands of ex-Service men and women every year - would grind to a halt.
There are currently vacancies for Poppy Appeal Organisers in the following areas:
- Ongar & Fyfield
- Broomfield
- Rowhedge
- Langham
- Great Chesterfield
- Felsted
- Nazeing
