Introduction of New DTO and Resumption of Training Courses
Introduction of new Training Officer
& Resumption of Training Courses
The purpose of this short article is to introduce myself (Paul Franks) as the new District Training Officer (DTO), Spain District North. I took over the post during Covid from Sue Shaw who has done a fantastic job for many years supporting the District as DTO.
With a background in the military and private security/health and safety sectors I have knowledge of training across different sectors and varied students, sometimes in very difficult circumstances.
As the new DTO my major concern is to satisfy the Branch needs and get training back on track after the two years of the Covid Pandemic which prevented most face to face training to continue. With this in mind, I am glad to say that our first course since the Pandemic has been successfully run at the Expat Centre in Rojales on 4th / 5th April.
The Treasurer / LOMAS Course would not have been possible without the support from Spain District South, a huge thank you must be given at this point to Margery Taylor, Spain District South Training Officer, who took the time out of her busy schedule to come up and instruct on this course for us.
The course was opened by the District Chairman Jack Kemp who welcomed everyone to the course and thanked them for taking on the appointments of respective Branch Treasurers.
I am sure that all students will agree that it was an outstanding and enjoyable couple of days and has qualified another 8 Branch Members qualified to run Branch Accounts.
The course was attended by:
Margery Taylor - Instructor
Paul Franks - DTO
John Pratt - Alicante Branch
Paul Kane - Gran Alacant & La Marina Branch
Glyn Powell - Gran Alacant & La Marina Branch
Don Cubbon - Gandia Branch
Linda Wainman - Hondon Valley Branch
Doreen Parker - Mojacar Branch
Geoffrey Thomas - Torrevieja Branch
John Wilson - District Concert Band
