Caseworker Information:

If you have anyone in branch who would like to become a caseworker there are plans to run a course in the next couple of months. Contact the Training officer at: SpainNorth.CTO@rbl.community

Cases:

There are a large number of ongoing cases in Spain North at the moment, many of them complex and difficult to resolve. A number of these cases are long standing, with 2 cases are out of our area.

Branch Community Support:

New BCS courses will be organised and will soon be announced by the district trainer.

Roadshows are also being organised to recruit folk into the Legion for BCS home and hospital visitors and telephone buddies, but also to support the local communities with different needs, to help address issues with accessing Spanish Social services, filling in Attendance Allowance forms and helping beneficiaries generally. If your branch would like to participate or support this initiative, please contact Pam Twissell- Cross. We will be advertising the schedule of events, soon

Community Support Finances:

We are currently supporting beneficiaries long term (those who have ongoing regular financial support).  Over the last year January 2021 -December 2021 127,696.62€ has been spent on welfare.

Media and Communications:

We have a new District webmaster and Media officer: Kevin Reardon from Orihuela Costa. Please send your ‘good news’ stories to him for publication on the website and also for the district Magazine.

Mark Benton has also joined the Community Support Working Group, Mark will be responsible for media and radio publicity within the group, and as such will be the link between the working group Kevin at District level.  Mark has already secured radio advertising on two stations, please see more information below:

The current advertising theme is supporting the Legion Beneficiaries, it is also planned to expand to Recruitment and Poppy Appeal.

Other Issues:

The Assistant Treasurer who works with welfare payments is stepping down in October, so a new treasurer will be needed. This is an important role which supports our beneficiaries. If you feel you could carry out this role, please contact Pam soonest. Full training and support provided.
