SOME LEGION FACTS AND FIGURES

We continue with our commitment to provide at least £95.2 million to help our beneficiaries.

In the recent past, £5.8 million per year was internally redirected, in order to address the urgent needs of those needing our help.  By better managing the use of these funds, the Legion has been able to invest more in personalised support across our network.

We recently gave practical support by providing grants, totalling £11.7 million, to just over 7,500 people.

The RBL's War Pension & Armed Forces Compensation service has also supported over 1,000 people to secure funds of £770,000 in a single year.

Just under 18,000 people were assisted through our specialist debt & money advice service and were able to access £12.6 million of benefits and grants, including negotiating debt relief, in the recent past.

Over the past 7 years, the average cost of each welfare case has increased from an average of £900 to £1330, which is an increase of over 45%.

Grants to individuals have also recently increased by nearly 30% from £8.6m to a predicted £11m.  That is a £2.4 million rise, which increases, year on year.

We provide over 400 residential spaces in our six Care Homes, including four with specialised wings for those suffering from dementia.

We have invested an extra £5 million in our Care Homes, including a 10-bed extension at Galanos House in Warwickshire.

In England, 95% of local authorities have joined the Community Covenant Scheme.  In Scotland and Wales, it's 100%.

A total of 180,000+ members support the Legion in 2000+ branches in the UK and overseas.
