The Branch welcomed Councillor Nigel Folkard, The Worshipful Mayor of  Southend-on-Sea City, who was accompanied by Mrs Folkard, the Mayoress. They were accompanied by the Mayor’s Cadet, Flight Sergeant Henry Irons. Henry spoke with great confidence about his role, and the Branch Members really enjoyed his talk. The Mayor stated that he was grateful for the opportunity to follow with a speech, and that both Henry and he very much appreciated the engaging questions raised during the subsequent Q&A session.  The Mayor also said that he was deeply touched to be presented with the generous gift of £50, in support of his two chosen charities: Southend in Sight and the Southend Hospital Dandelion Appeal.
