On Friday 28 March 2014 at Euston Station, the unveiling of a Memorial plaque in honour of a VC recipient - Lance-Corporal John (Jock) Christie - Late of the KRRC, took place.

The District Chairman, Rob Richier and Standard Bearers from the District-Michael Foster; Earl Haig- Mr Giddens; St Georges - Mr Hubble; and Walthamstow - Mr Scroby, were in attendance. 

The fitting tribute was witnessed by a packed station as a Military Contingent of Army Reserves and veterans took part in the ceremony. Field Marshal Sir John Lyon Chapple, GCB, CBE, made a speech that gave a brief synopsis of the VC Award and brief history of the Rifles (formerly Green Jackets); Network Rail paid tribute to their past employee and Lance Corporal Christie's son, Kenneth Christie had been invited to perform the unveiling of the plaque (You Tube clip).  Click on images below to enlarge:-
