Dedication of the GLD Standard - July 2012

The Dedication of the new Greater London District Standard took place at Evensong (6.30pm) in the very charming Church of St Mary Magdalene, in Paradise Road, Richmond on Sunday 22 July.  Also at the service the Blessing of the Stole took place at which Canon Robert Titley became the Richmond Branch Padre who performed the blessing of the Standard.

In attendance were Greater London Committee Members, Legion Members and District Secretary as follows:-

• Jim Lowther - GLD Committee Official and Chiswick Mem/subs and PAO

• Mr Andrew Bell-Wright
• Mr and Mrs Norman and Sue Pearce
• Sarah Stephenson - District Secretary

A Standard is put to service and treated with as much reverence as the Regiment, Organisaiton, People, honour and traditions, they represent.  A Standard is regarded as the embodiment of the spirit and soul of those people it is associated with.
