🍂 October in Devon – Poppies, Pumpkins & Plenty Going On! 🌺

October has arrived, the leaves are falling, the evenings are drawing in, and somewhere in Devon, someone has already mentioned Christmas! 🎄😂

But before we dig out the tinsel, there's a rather important few weeks ahead for the Royal British Legion in Devon.

🌺 The Poppy Appeal 2026 is here!

Across the county, our wonderful volunteers are preparing for one of the busiest and most important times of the year. From collecting donations and organising events to making sure poppies reach every corner of Devon, it's a tremendous team effort.

To everyone giving their time, energy and enthusiasm – thank you! Whether you're a seasoned Poppy Appeal veteran or volunteering for the first time, you really do make a difference.

🎺 Festival of Remembrance – 31 October

We're also looking forward to our Devon Festival of Remembrance at CTCRM Lympstone, featuring the magnificent Salamanca Band and Bugles of The Rifles. A wonderful opportunity to come together in remembrance, reflection and gratitude.

📰 October Newsletter – Hot Off the Press!

Our latest county newsletter is bursting with branch news, events, updates and a few surprises. So, put the kettle on, locate the biscuit tin and catch up with everything happening across Devon.

And remember, we'd love to hear from you! If your branch has a story, event or achievement worth celebrating, please share it. There's some fantastic work happening across our county, and we want everyone to know about it.

Here's to a successful Poppy Appeal, a meaningful Remembrance season and, hopefully, a few days when it doesn't rain sideways!

Happy October, Devon! 🍁🌺
