In Memorandum
Busy morning on the 9th February 2026 at the Royal Military Police Museum, Southwick Park, Hants today with Mrs B, where I proudly handed over WLCpl Lorraine Coffey's Provost Marshalls Gold Whistle & Chain to the museums Curator for prosperity.
The Gold Whistle & Chain is awarded to the outstanding Royal Military Police recruit for each intake and this one was awarded to Lorraine at her time in Chichester in 1992. Lorraine passed away 25 years ago from Cancer, so this was a befitting tribute to her service.
This was donated by her father, a local to Weston, through our Branch Community Coordinator, Robin Potter and donated to the Museum with his permission. An interesting and nostalgic day indeed.

Winners of the Barnes Cup 2026 / 2027
We were delighted to been presented the Barnes Cup for Efficiency (For Branch under 100 members). The cup was presented by the National President, Vice Admiral Paul Bennett RN (Rtd), CB MBE to Rob Bywaters at this years Somerset County Conference on Sunday 11th January. This is a second win for the Branch in the last 8 years since and we are all extremely proud of our achievements in this time.
