The Royal British Legion is recognised as the National Custodian of Remembrance.
We sincerely thank everyone who regularly attend our moving Remembrance Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, St Ives. It is so heart-warming to see the crowds growing every year, and we would particularly like to praise the many Youth Groups of all ages.
Following comments received from a number of Groups, and in preparation for our 2026 event, alongside our Town Council we have been actively involved in reviewing the duration and timings of our Remembrance Sunday Service & Parade. We will always aim to encourage the community and youth of our Town/District to attend such an important occasion, and we understand that standing out in the November weather does have its impact on people, especially the elderly and the younger ones. In the past years we have been very lucky with the weather, but we must not become complacent. It is important to say that any changes made will never impact upon the solemnity of the occasion and the homage owed to our fallen.
