RBL Groups and branches play a vital role in providing opportunity for connection and camaraderie.

The RBL Special Interest Groups are currently run on the online platform Discord, a social media/communication platform that is designed specifically for bringing people together online.

The Discord Platform has been designed for either large communities or smaller personal groups of friends. Users of Discord can join multiple groups or “Servers” as Discord call them. You can then move between them as you please.

The RBL Hobbies & Interests and the RBL Gamers Group are the first editions of the Groups that our members can join. We plan to add more in the coming months.

The Discord platform can be used either by downloading the App on their PC, phone, tablet etc. or using the in-browser version which is identical. Within the Server there are two main methods of communications, these are called “channels”. The first channel for communication is the text channels, just like with Microsoft Teams, it is a simple text chat where members can communicate with each other, this can be for general discussions on RBL matters or just “hang outs”. The second type of communication channel are voice channels. These work very similarly to the above text channels, in that we can create as many as needed, and if needed we can set them up so only certain server roles can join.
