About Javea Branch

The Javea Branch of The Royal British Legion (RBL) was first established in 1990.

Although the branch is named Javea, membership encompasses a wider geographical area than just Javea, as the above area map shows. If you need help, want to discuss things, come to a meeting, or attend one of our many social events, a list of upcoming events can be seen here, why not join us. All are welcome. We have a growing membership.

Javea Branch Members Meeting is at 10.30 on the second Tuesday of each month at Javea Golf Club except during July and August.

Membership is open to everyone. If you have an interest in the objectives of the Legion, and want to help and support those who have served, and their families, come and join us. We welcome men and women of all ages, whether they have served in the Armed Forces, or not.

Legion membership ensures that

  • Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave Service men and women have made are never forgotten.
  • The ex-Service community have a voice and that their concerns are brought to the public eye.

Becoming a member also provides the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, and events held locally, regionally and nationally throughout the year.

We have a thriving membership. We also have many social activities throughout the year with an all important Remembrance period in November. The Branch, as well as the formal support activities of the Royal British Legion, is a place to meet up with like minded members of the community.

If you need help, please contact any of the Branch committee or, you can always contact the main Legion numbers shown below or, visit our Facebook page.  Additional information on a wide variety of issues relevant to living in Spain, as well as links to Legion and District North Spain publications etc can be found by following this link to the District webpage.

Why not come along and join us?

A little synopsis of The Royal British Legion, its Serving and Veterans support.

The Legion provides financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces - past and present and their families. The Legion is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem, the red poppy.

Founded in 1921, the Legion is not just about those who fought in the World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting for the freedom we enjoy today.

District North Spain covers an area from the French Border to Roquetas de Mar in Almeria, both the coastal regions and inland. If you feel our District Community Support Team may be able to help you or someone close to you, please contact them for a confidential chat as follows:

Veteran's Gateway

The Veteran'Gateway is a UK government initiative to inform, and support the UK Vets, families and others. It is unfortunately UK based, unlike the Legion but, has a wealth of information, including, housing, welfare. mental health support, etc., that could be of use to youu, or people you know. A link to the Veteran's Gateway page may be found here.

THE SOCIAL SCENE

We're delighted to say that our social programme of varied, and pleasant activities are continuing to be organised by the Branch.  For further details see our Social Activities pages, Up Coming or Past.

As well as holding our regular Branch meetings, on the second Tuesday of the month, we are holding regular coffee mornings every fourth Tuesday of the month, except July & August, at various locations, starting at 10.30am.

If you're already a Branch Member or even if you're interested in supporting the work of the Legion in helping veterans and their families, why don't you join us and see what we're all about.  The money raised in Spain during the annual Poppy Appeal stays here for those who find themselves in need, so your support is needed every bit as much this year as in previous years.
