 Volunteering Opportunities

Join our Team in Kent

Volunteers are the lifeblood of The Royal British Legion and Poppy Appeal and we couldn't achieve all that we do without them.

We have a whole range of volunteering opportunities so there's lots of ways you can get involved, whether you have got a lot of time to give or just an hour or two.

There are lots of ways you can help as a volunteer:

  • Throughout the year or during the Poppy Appeal
  • With our fundraising teams either on your own or with your company, group, cadet unit, university or regiment
  • With our welfare teams, delivering the support we provide to the Armed Forces family
  • By becoming a Legion member and participating in membership activities
  • For only a couple of hours or more if you have time

Why we need your time

Do something amazingWe've never been needed more and increasingly, the practical, emotional and social support we give is to the Afghan generation of the Armed Forces and their families - today and for the rest of their lives.

In 2009 we helped 10,000 veterans who had fought in Iraq and Afghanistan with direct financial assistance.

Your time can make sure we are able to carry on supporting those who need us. Whether you help us raise the money we need or help us deliver the services to those who come to us, all we ask for is a bit of time.

Benefits of volunteering for us

Volunteering with the Legion gives you the opportunity to develop and learn new skills, enhance your CV and have an enjoyable and rewarding experience at the same time.

You'll gain experience of how a large, successful national charity works and if you're volunteering for the Poppy Appeal you'll be part of the largest and most successful fundraising campaign in Europe.

You'll get to meet hugely inspiring supporters, other volunteers and Armed Forces heroes and will help to make a lasting difference to people's lives.

If you're volunteering for us, you'll receive an induction, and relevant training and ongoing support. For any volunteering role, we'll reimburse your 'out-of-pocket' expenses within agreed guidelines too.

If you would like to Volunteer please send an e-mail with your full contact details to channington@britishlegion.org.uk for further information.
