INTRODUCTION

Hello.

I'm Troy, I joined the Royal British Legion in November 22 as the Membership Engagement Administrator with responsibility for the Women’s Section, National Branches, Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland.

It's a welcome change from my recent career in the Armed Forces where I served as a French Horn player in the RAF (1989/99) & the Army (1999/2022) where I became a Bandmaster in 2008 (a duty he performed until his recent retirement). As a player and a Bandmaster I have performed in many Bands, some twice, with highlights being the RAF Central Band and The Band of The Grenadier Guards (a Band to which I returned to as bandmaster in 2013 for three years).

After 33 years of service I welcome life in which I don’t have to travel as much, especially happy of the 35 minutes only that it now takes him to get to work at Haig House. My workflow has kept me just as busy as his previous career, with trips undertaken to Northern Ireland, coverage of the County Chairs Seminar and two cycles of the Women’s Section Central Committee Meeting already under his belt, in but three short months – it is far from an exhaustive list!

I don’t think I could have landed in a better place after my Service.
My immediate team of MEOs and managers are fantastic, and my enjoyment in interaction with the Women’s Section’s and National Branch’s characters and Officers is worthy of special note.
The RBL organisation truly evidences that there is not a finer ‘bunch’ of dedicated people in the land who live and breath for the wellbeing of Serviceman and their Dependants – truly a great place to land where I hope to be for a long time to come!

I look forward to working with you all.

Best wishes

Troy
