This years Lord Lieutenants Cadet Awards Ceremony was held on the 21st April 2015 in Warwick. We were really lucky this year to have our event sponsored by the Lord Lieutenant, Tesco Ricoh Arena and Canon Park stores – thank you!
Cadet units from in and around the Coventry and Warwickshire area collectively raised nearly £61,000.00 for this years Poppy Appeal.
Amongst the Cadet Forces receiving awards were units from Coventry Sea Cadets, Leamington and Warwick Sea Cadets, Nuneaton Sea Cadets, Leamington Spa ACF, Nuneaton ACF, Rugby Troop and Corps of Drums ACF, No. 1200 (Polesworth) Squadron ATC, No. 1459 (Heart of England) Squadron ATC, A492 (Solihull) Squadron ATC.
Individual awards were presented to Cadets, some who independently collected nearly £2000, from Coventry Sea Cadets, Leamington Spa ACF, Rugby Troop and Corps of Drums ACF and No. 1200 (Polesworth) Squadron ATC.
The current economic climate is having a significant impact on our fundraising efforts, whilst we continue to experience high levels of calls for assistance from serving members of the Armed Forces and ex-Service personnel and their families. Many of these cases are now far more complicated and expensive to provide the solutions for. The kind help and support we have received from the young people in our area will further enable us to continue our work.
