Gordon Higginbottom - Musical Director

A musician of the highest standard and vast experience,
Gordon has appeared as soloist in more than 20 countries, from
America to Japan, Pakistan and Mexico to Australia.
He has countless TV and Radio broadcasts to his credit, and as a
session musician, many commercial recordings and film tracks
( eg: Evita with Madonna)
Formerly , principal Horn of The National Band ,The Virtuosi
Brass Band of Gt. Britain , Harry Mortimer All Stars and the James
Shepherd Versatile Brass , Gordon has also performed
with other famous bands such as Black Dyke, and Grimethorpe
Colliery, etc
In addition he has performed with the Philharmonia, The Wallace
Collection , the Massed Bands of the Guards, and for a number of
years, a BBC Studio big band.
As an Educator, Gordon was formerly a Professor at
London College of Music , tutor at Leeds College of Music,
Salford College and The Royal Northern College of Music
,where he is now an external examiner.
He was also tutor to the National Youth Bands of Wales and
Switzerland
In 1998 Gordon was awarded the English Masters Award at
Cambridge.
