King Charles, a leader, at the Cenotaph's side

The following poem was seen online following the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday 2023. What a lovely sentiment it shares.

In fields of crimson, where poppies sway,
A global connection, in petals' display.
A symbol of remembrance, each bloom in the wind,
A poignant melody, where memories are pinned.

King Charles, a leader, at the Cenotaph's side,
In London's embrace, where emotions abide.
His solemn presence, a beacon of grace,
Honouring the fallen, in that sacred space.

The poppy, a bridge, across borders it weaves,
Connecting hearts, where sorrow conceives.
From Flanders' fields to distant lands,
A universal bond, as history stands.

As the music plays, a symphony unfolds,
Echoes of sacrifice, and stories untold.
The rhythm of unity, the harmony of peace,
In the poppy's embrace, our conflicts cease.

King Charles, with reverence, at the Cenotaph stands,
A guardian of memories, across time's sands.
His leadership, a testament to the past,
A legacy that in our hearts will forever last.

In the tapestry of nations, where poppies bloom,
A tribute to courage, dispelling the gloom.
Let the music play, let it echo and soar,
For the fallen we honour, forevermore.
