Northern Ireland Women's Section
The RBL Women’s Section, Northern Ireland
Formed in 1925 and recognised as a district in 1929. They have now approximately 180 members District wide, including the NI Holding Branch.
When the District administration was reorganised in April 2022, the membership was approximately 75 in the 5 remaining Branches. Since then, they have taken gradual steps, worked consistently, and the membership has and is now growing, as is the public awareness of The NI Women’s section within the communities.
As of December 2024, the membership has now increased to 174. They have now added 3 Branches to the District, with the reopening of Omagh, Hillsborough and Lisburn. At present, and consistently working hand in hand with the RBL Branches, both at Branch and District level we have another two Branches, waiting in the wings, to reopen this year.
All the Branches work in partnership with their corresponding RBL Branches, and have an excellent relationship at both Branch and District level, with each supporting, attending, and assisting each other at events and functions all around Northern Ireland.
In other locations in NI, Branches, as with those above, we are constantly supporting their comrades within RBL Branches. Working in cooperation, at all functions and events. Participating with The Poppy Appeal fund raising, as well as constantly holding meetings and always fundraising for The Women’s Section Benevolent Fund schemes.
The District Chairman and Standard Bearer have and are being regularly invited and have attended numerous events, services, and commemorations during this past year, in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and Mainland UK.
