The 2023 Conference of The Royal British Legion Northamptonshire took place on Saturday 21st January 2023 in the Council Chambers, Northampton.

Following a parade of the County and Branch Standards, Ian Byrnes, County Chairman welcomed the special guests which included Brigadier Russell-Parsons CBE, Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Cllr Andre Gonzalez De Savage, Chair of West Northamptonshire Council, Cllr Dennis Meredith, Northampton Town Mayor and Father Oliver Cross, County Chaplain TRBL Northamptonshire. |
Speeches were delivered by the County Chairman, the National Chairman and the County Fundraiser, Giles Coleman. |

The Guest Speaker was Mr Jason Coward, National Chairman of The Royal British Legion. |

Delegates approved motions which will be presented at The Royal British Legion National Conference in May 2023. |
Mr Phil Blanchard accepted a Membership Council Award for Rushden & District Branch for effort and innovation in fundraising and branch events. |

Mr Colin Bailey (Northampton Branch) received a County Certificate for his long-standing efforts for the Poppy Appeal and beneficiaries in Weston Favell. |
Mr Peter Armstrong (Rushden & District Branch) received a County Certificate for outstanding effort and leadership with the BCS team in the Branch. |

Mr Allan Short received a Long Service Award on behalf of Mr Michael Shipton (Finedon, Irthlingborough & District Branch) as a former County Chairman and Branch Officer, having surrendered the Branch Presidency in December 2022 marking the end of 100 years of continuous service to The Royal British Legion by his family. |
Mr Adam Shanahan-Brooks (Raunds & District Branch) Winner of the Wiffin Trophy and Deputy County Standard Bearer. |

Mr Chris Barlow (Duston & District Branch) Winner of the Maxwell Challenge Trophy and County Standard Bearer. |
Mr Pat Cutting (Finedon, Irthlingborough & District Branch) received a County Certificate of Appreciation for his outstanding efforts as County Parade Marshal and Standard Bearer. |

County Chairman Mr Ian Byrnes charged the County Standard as it was received by the new County Standard Bearer for 2023-2024 Mr Chris Barlow (Duston & District Branch). |
Conference was attended by a total of 50 Branch Delegates, Royal British Legion members and guests.
A copy of the Conference minutes and supporting papers have been circulated to all branches.
