The Royal British Legion (RBL) Welfare Overseas is committed to supporting veterans, serving personnel, and their families living outside the United Kingdom. Service does not end at a border—and neither does our support.

Across Europe and the wider world, our welfare teams and branches work tirelessly to ensure that no member of the Armed Forces community faces hardship alone.

What We Do

💙 Welfare Support

We provide practical, emotional, and financial assistance to those in need. This includes:

• Guidance with benefits and entitlements

• Financial assistance in cases of hardship

• Support during crisis situations

• Advocacy with local authorities and UK agencies

• Help navigating healthcare and social systems abroad

🧭 Casework & Personal Support

Our trained Welfare Officers and volunteers work closely with individuals and families, offering confidential advice and tailored solutions. Every case is handled with dignity, discretion, and respect.

🏠 Housing & Emergency Assistance

Where necessary, we assist with housing challenges, emergency accommodation, and urgent financial needs.

🧠 Mental Health & Well being

We recognize that transition, deployment experiences, and life overseas can present unique challenges. We help connect individuals to appropriate mental health and well being services—both locally and within UK support networks.

Working Through Our Overseas Branches

Our overseas branches form the backbone of our welfare network. They provide:

• Local knowledge and community connection

• Regular contact and social support

• Signposting to appropriate services

• A strong peer network of fellow veterans
