Why your group should be considered for this Award?
1st Ivybridge Scout Group has actively supported The Royal British Legion for many years and certainly during all my time with the Group (15 years)
This involvement has grown and has even involved representatives being invited to attend the Plymouth Branches Service of Remembrance at the Plymouth Pavilions to acknowledge our contribution and support.
As a Scout Group we feel it is important to ensure we involve the young people in the community and make them aware of the contributions and sacrifices that others have made.
The scouting presence at the Remembrance Parade also includes their families and this has supported a Town and community wide event that has increased the awareness of the fantastic work undertaken by The Royal British Legion.
The support of 1st Ivybridge Scout Group has not just started this year but has been an ongoing and a regular occurrence which is remembered by many as they return year on year from the young Beaver (6 yrs) to some of the service members who are ex members of the Group.
