AWARDS PRESENTATIONTHE AWARDS WERE PRESENTED BY THE Lord Lieutenant - Claire Hensman.

 

The Major JW Smith Poppy Day Rose Bowl presented for the largest increase in Poppy Collections for Branches with over 50 members this year is awarded to Carlsile and Stanwix Branch. Carlisle and Stanwix have raised their poppy appeal total from £116,000 in 2017/2018 to over £125,000 for 2018 /2019. This is achieved by dedicated hard work by a fantastic group of volunteers who support the Poppy Appeal Organisers at Carlisle.

 

George Coles Poppy Trophy presented to Branches with under 50 members for the largest increase in the Poppy Appeal from 2017/18 to 2018/19. This year the award goes to Keswick Branch with a fantastic increase in their appeal of almost £6000 from £11,000 in 17/18 to almost £17, 500 in 18/19. For a Branch that almost closed earlier in 2019 this is a fantastic effort and one of which the new committee can be very proud.

 

George Coward Poppy Trophy Presented to the PAO who has no branch support for the Poppy Appeal. This Year with an increase of over £1500 on the previous years total the award Goes to Sheila Ashburner from Milnthorpe.

 

Capt J W Smith Memorial Cup presented to branches with the biggest increase in new members for branches with over 50 members. Goes to Carlisle and Stanwix Branch with an increase in new members of 24.

 

The Cumberland and Westmorland County membership Shield Presented for the largest increase in new members for Branches with RBL Club Support This year once again goes to Workington Branch with an increase of 12 new members.
