Cecil McComb (RIP) - Kendal "Poppy Man"

The "Celebration of the Life of Cecil McComb" took place at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Thursday 24th January 2019.

It was deservingly very well attended, including 5 Standards.

Cecil amazingly raised over £26,000 for the Poppy Appeal in Kendal.

The Kendal Branch Secretary said: "Mac will be missed by all at the Kendal Branch and his enthusiasm, dedication and his sense of honour to all branches of the Armed Forces was always evident." 

Also from the Community Fundraiser, Judith Reay: "The total for Kendal is £26,259.06, nearly £4k up on last year’s total & that is down to Cecil’s tireless fundraising, enthusiasm & passion for the Poppy Appeal. Cecil was key to the success, not only for the annual  Poppy Appeal, but for the Poppy Appeal involvement in the Kendal Torchlight, Westmorland Show & Kendal Wool Gathering. Cecil will be greatly missed by us all."
