2025 VJ Day at Cornwall RBL Woodland at Nansledan

The VJ Day commemoration at Cornwall RBL Woodland in Nansledan that took place on August 15, 2025, at 17.00hrs, featuring a service and wreath-laying ceremony to honour those who served in World War II.
The event included a service and wreath-laying ceremony organized by the Cornwall County Royal British Legion and attended by many Cornish RBL Branches. This is part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, which marks the end of World War II in the Pacific and honours the sacrifices made by British, Commonwealth, and Allied forces during the conflict.
VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day, commemorates the surrender of Japan on August 15, 1945, which effectively ended World War II. The day is significant for remembering the contributions and sacrifices of those who served in the war, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, where many faced prolonged conflict even after the war in Europe had concluded.
