Day 1, a very early start as Lorna Burrows sets off on the 2023 RBL Pedal to Paris. First day London to Dover approx 86 miles before catching the ferry to Calais. In Calais, only a short ride to the overnight stop and a well-deserved rest before Day 2!
Day 2, a wet start for Lorna in Calais and though it was hopped that the weather would improve during the day, unfortunately it didn’t cooperate and was wet all day.
Day 3 start, Abbeville to Beauvais today. Bit of drizzle but nowhere near as wet as Day 2! In Lorna's words, “the hardest days cycling she's ever done in yesterday's conditions”. Day 3, was a much better day, allowing Lorna to move up to the middle pace group.
Day 4 and the Final day. 353km done, 100km to go to the finish at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!
4 DAYS, 453 kms, One tired body. Lorna Burrows has completed the Pedal to Paris finishing at the Arc de Triomphe.
An extra fact, the French Authorities only close the roads in Paris twice a year, the Tour de France and the Pedal To Paris event.
Lorna Burrows wants to say a massive thank you to everyone that has donated and sent messages of support, it truly means alot and she is overwhelmed and very emotional.
