poppy field

Zurgena

What a beautiful service this morning for the Royal British Legion, their 100 year celebration. The church was full and there was such an air of reverence and calm. People came to put their crosses into the larger Cross of Remembrance to be placed in the Square at the Renfre Building.
Margie took the service and Chris and Jeff read an address and a poem, "Why do I wear a poppy." We sang the favourites for Armistices Day, "Jerusalem" and 'I vow to Thee my Country" and Dennis led the Act of Remembrance and Kohima Epitaph. Kath played the music for us and Darren played Last Post and Reveille on the trumpet, very moving for everyone, each with their personal memories. Fran came to represent the Mayor from Zurgena Town Hall. It was most appreciated.
