It was an absolute delight to have so many people gathering in our little chapel to share this very special Day of Remembrance. The church was nearly full and many ex-servicemen wore their medals with pride. It was a wonderful sight. Our table of Remembrance held some personal momentos of loved ones and people added the names of those they wanted to remember on the small white crosses provided.

There was a genuine feeling of togetherness as the service progressed and we were all deeply moved by Darren playing the "Last Post" on his bugle to take us into our 2 minutes silence. "Reveille" brought us together for prayer after the time of reflection.

Margie preached, sharing her own personal memories of her parents and urging us all to bring our God back into our county's values again, praying the tide will turn again and the sacrifice of so many will be rewarded with a return to the values they fought so hard to save.

We ended with an Act of Commitment for Remembrance Day.

"Lord God, our Father, we pledge ourselves to serve you and all humankind, in the cause of peace, for the relief of want and suffering, and for the praise of your name. Guide us with your Spirit, give us wisdom, give us courage, give us hope and keep us faithful now and always." And then sang "I vow to Thee my Country", very moving for us all.
