REMEMBRANCE 2024
On Friday 8th November, Paul Farquhar attended the Remembrance Assembly at Birdham Primary School.
On Saturday 9th November we held our annual Poppy Dance event, which was led by our Poppy Dancers, Mia, Daniel, Scarlett and Halle. They did a wonderful job of scattering the hall with poppies.
On Sunday 10th November wreaths were laid by Anthony Gregory, Paul Farquhar and John Bingham on graves at local village churches.
On Sunday 10th November we were proud to attend the Parade to East Wittering Memorial at 10.45am. The service was conducted by Father Steve Davies of St. Anne's Church. The service was attended by approximately 200 members of the public, 1st Birdham Scouts, Cubs & Beavers plus ex servicemen and women. The first 4 wreaths laid were Witterings & District Branch (Dave Shackleford), Witterings & District Club (Chris Taylor), East Wittering & Bracklesham Parish Council (Brian Reeves) and Phil Moore (on behalf of Jess Brown Fuller MP).
After the service a buffet was supplied by the Branch at Witterings & District Club.
On Monday 11th November, Father Steve Davies held a service at the East Wittering War Memorial and this was attended by over 50 members of the public, pupils from East Wittering Primary School and ex servicemen and women.
Also, on Monday 11th November, Anthony Gregory and Paul Farquhar attended the service at Tangmere Military Museum.
