The Buffalos first occupied the building until 2nd March 1928,when" the Buffs" were disbanded and the Wickford and District Branch of The Royal British Legion was formed and The Royal British Legion, purchased the building, and the remaining members of "the Buffs" were assimilated into the Branch. Ownership of the Building still remains with The Trustees of TRBL who decide the rent charged to its tenants (the Club).

 The premises now occupied by the Branch and Club was formerly used as a church. A temporary extension to the building was constructed by Branch members with various items of timber,asbestos and corrugated iron, but it became unsafe and was finally demolished and reconstructed into a permanent structure in 2004. Funds for which were provided by the Club.

Prior to reconstruction 2 portacabins were used by both Branch and Club to store equipment, but a Swiss-like Chalet was purchased by the Branch for its use, while both portacabins were disposed of.Use of the Chalet is by both Branch and Club for Meetings and Storage of Poppy Wreaths and collection Boxes, and for storage of sensitive documents(previous minutes etc.) The chalet is divided into a large meeting room with 2 additional rooms, one of which is used by the Poppy Appeal Organizer for storage of poppy trays and collection boxes and Remembrance Day Wreaths, the other is used by the Branch and Club as an office. Various metal cupboards are used for storage, and the Branch Standard. There is also a small loft used for storage. 

All are welcome to join the Branch and Club. Applications for membership are available at the Club bar. Renewal of membership is from 1st October annually.

Club is open 7 days per week. Opening hours are:-

                                          Tuesday      2 .00pm to 11.00pm

                                          Wednesday  1.00pm to 11.00pm

                                          Thursday      2.00pm to 11.00pm

                                           Friday          1.00pm to Midnight

                                           Saturday      Noon to Midnight

                                           Sunday        Noon to 10.30pm
