Wexford

The Wexford Branch are currently planning, or in the process of fund raising for the below listed projects.

Kilscoran Memorial to the crew of the HMD Speedwell V, which wrecked on Splaugh Rock, Rosslare in a storm on 28th October 1916.  All ten crew were lost with only three being recovered for burial at Kilscoran church graveyard.  Nine of the ten crew were from Aberdeen.

Our branch intend to erect a similar memorial to the one that we erected in the Templetown Old Church graveyard in 2013.

Letters seeking funding have been posted.

Alexander Ritchie grave refurbishment;  Alexander Ritchie is buried in the old Killila graveyard at Blackwater.  Unfortunately, being a redundant graveyard it receives little attention and the hope is to raise funds for kerbing to be placed around the grave and for a path to be laid to his grave.   Fund raising has not started on this project yet.

Alexander was a deckhand on the HMD Barbara Cowie (a net boat) who drowned.
