From our December Newsletter:
The Branch has had a busy year again. Highlights have
included the granting of The Freedom of the Royal Borough of
Greenwich, participation in Flag Raising for Armed Forces Week and
in the Armed Forces Day event in the Royal Arsenal.
We were also represented by our Standard Bearers at a number of
Parades and events throughout the area (a big thank you to Roy and
Lilly for this) and also at the Garden of Remembrance.
The Branch was represented at Woolwich Town Hall for the Olympic
Torch Relay when the Torch Bearer was lead down Wellington Street
by the splendid horses and riders of The King's Troop Royal Horse
Artillery - a wonderful sight to see.
Over the Remembrance weekend we were on parade at Plumstead and
Woolwich Cemeteries as well as having a good turnout at the annual
Church Service at St Michael's. I am also aware that some
Members also took part in other Remembrance events in the
region.
