Details for Both the Great Cornard & Sudbury Remembrance Parades Sunday 10th November 2024
Great Cornard
Parade form up: 9.40am
March off: 9.50am
Location: Bures Road Opposite Kings Head, Great Cornard
Church Service: 10.15am
The parade will march up along Bures Road led by the Phoenix Group. The Salute will be taken by the Parish Chairman at the Old Post Office and finish at St Andrews Church.
Following the Service the congregation will gather around the War Memorial and Wreaths will be laid after Last Post is played at 11.00a.m.
The Parade will then form up to travel back to the Stephenson Centre for refreshments courtesy of Gt Cornard Parish Council.
Sudbury
Parade form up: 1.40pm
March Off: 2.00pm
Location: North side of Market Hill
Church Service: 2.30pm
The Parade will form up on the North side of the Market Hill to leave at 2.00 p.m. and be led by The Colchester Pipes and Drums to travel down Gainsborough Street into Gregory Street and finish at St Gregory's Church.
Following the Service Wreaths will be laid on both the British and American Memorials.
The Parade will then form up to march along Croft Road into New Street, North Street and back to the Market Hill.
The Salute will be taken outside the Town Hall by the Deputy Lieutenant, Town Mayor and our Branch President. After the dismissal of the Parade refreshments will be served in the Town Hall.
The Garden of Remembrance outside St. Gregory’s Church will still be in place for those who wish to place a cross in memory of a loved one.
