Stamford

Stamford will be commemorating the centenary of WW1 with a series of community-based events over the 4-year period.

The programme will be led by our Branch in conjunction with the Town Hall.

Public Meeting

On 2 Octoboer 2013, the Branch and the Town Hall will be holding a public meeting for all interested in the WW1 commemoration programme.

The project group for Stamford's WW1 Centenary Commemoration Programme, would like to invite all interested parties to a public meeting at the Town Hall from 7-9pm to discuss local plans for commemorating the outbreak of the war next summer.

They would particularly like any groups planning a commemoration event over the 4-year centenary period to join the discussion, as well as any groups or individuals interested in participating in the project next year. The project will have a local focus and will be undertaking research into social and military history engaging with the events and impact of the war locally, with the aim of involving as many people as possible from the local community in the commemoration.
