This was without question our best evening together since the 1940s Party at Lady Anne's Hotel 2½ years ago. Probably 150 or more of us squeezed into the Danish Invader pub on 22 November for a Saturday night of those fabulous 1960s hits played by a really good band, the Silhouettes.
They were terrific and soon had us all up on the floor twisting and jiving and generally making fools of ourselves. They played all the hits - Move It, On the Board walk, etc and Honk Tonk Woman by the Rolling Stones.
A big thank you to the Silhouettes, to Chris and his staff of the Invader for laying on a super buffet, to everyone who brought raffle prizes, to Roy and Marion for organizing the raffle which raised a fantastic £165, and last but certainly not least to Bill Turner for his grafting in putting the evening together. A brilliant success!!
