The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
When Armistice Day, (the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month) does not fall on Remembrance Sunday, informal homage is paid at the main Stalybridge and Dukinfield War Memorials on the 11th November. A small informal gathering will take place at both Dukinfield and Stalybridge War Memorials to observe the two-minute silence at 11a.m. Anyone who would like to join us are more than welcome.
A Parade and Service takes place on Remembrance Sunday in Stalybridge at 10:55am and again in the afternoon at Dukinfield at 3:00pm..
