After 3 years without a service due to COVID restrictions the Stafford Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) were hugely enthusiastic and eager to organise and deliver such a traditional and poignant ANZAC Remembrance Service in the Cannock Chase Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.
The RBL from across the county have embraced the event with 49 Standards on Parade and over 250 people in attendance. The large group of dignitaries including Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, representatives from the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions and the Daughter of an ANZAC soldier were unanimously delighted to attend and lay representative wreaths on behalf of their Countries and/or organisations.
Neither World War 2 or COVID have stopped this important act of Remembrance and we look forward to commemorating ANZAC Day in 2023 with eager anticipation”
