Support the Royal British Legion

Millions of people every year support the work of the Royal British Legion through the annual Poppy Appeal.

However, Remembrance and Support for ex-service personnel is not just for November.

You can continue to show your support in other ways for the rest of the year.

Apart from the Poppy Appeal you can demonstrate your support to the RBL charity by purchasing something from the wide range of merchandise on offer from the Poppy Shop.

The range is too numerous to state here eg. Clothing to Cufflinks, Badges to Brooches, Bags to Backpacks, Poppy Pins to Pottery to name just some. Take a look at the link below.

Leave a Gift in your Will?

The thought of making a will is off putting for most of us and we would rather wait and not have to think about doing it.  However, having a will can save your executors/beneficiaries much cost, time and worry if your wishes are clearly stated. None of us can accurately predict when that dreadful day will come.

You could ensure that when the time does come, that you give support to the Royal British Legion by leaving a gift in your will.  If you need help, the RBL can give you assistance in writing your will for free, without any obligation, using locally based solicitors.

If this is of interest to you then go online to the link below.

How the RBL gives support

The RBL was formed in 1921 to support the needs of ex-service personnel of World War One.

Portishead as one of the founding branches.

Today with the advances in evacuation procedures from conflict zones, the developments in emergency and recovery medicine, many who would have died in earlier wars now survive, albeit with horrific disabilities. Many need support to help with their recovery to overcome the physical, mental, emotional and financial problems involved in establishing a new normal life for them and their families.

The Royal British Legion spends some £50 million each year to provide such support for serving and ex-serving personnel and their families.
