Our Poppy Appeal

2024 RBL Portishead Poppy Appeal

What a great year we have had for donations.   So much help from all the volunteers who stood to collection donations at Sainsburys, Waitrose and Gordano services.   Also, to the Portishead cadets who stood in the High Street for the three weekends over the Poppy Appeal dates.  And all the businesses and locations that kindly took at donation tin and a tray of poppies – thank you to all and a special thank you to our appeal organiser, Sue Quinn.

The 2024 Portishead Poppy Appeal donations totalled a massive £50,162.04.  Thank you to all who donated.

2023 Appeal

Another record year for Portishead’s RBL Poppy Appeal when £52,250 was raised.

Thank you and well done to the generous people of Portishead and the surrounding district and to all of the Poppy Appeal team for their time and efforts. Thanks are also due to the Army and Air Cadets for their High Street collections and for all of our local businesses and schools with their trays and tin collections.

Your ex-service people applaud you for the help you have given them.

2022 Appeal

Once again well done to everyone who supported the 2022 Poppy Appeal.

A record amount for our Branch and an astonishing amount of money was raised.

Thank you to all. Not bad for a town of under 30,000 people.

£37,878.65 was raised to support the work of the Royal British Legion.

Much credit must go to our revised and enlarged team of volunteer collectors who spent over 180 x 2 hour sessions in many locations including Waitrose, Sainsburys, Gordano Services.

The team was organised and supported by our new Poppy Appeal Organiser, Sue Quinn, and much credit must go to her for her time, effort and skill in what was achieved.
