The Poppy Appeal in the Pawlett area
The Pawlett Branch co-ordinates the Poppy Appeal collection in Pawlett and the surrounding area, including Woolavington, Puriton and East Huntspill.
Pawlett Branch has shown its fundraising skills over the years by steadily raising money for the Poppy Appeal. The Royal British Legion overall collected over £60 million pounds through the Poppy Appeal in 2017, and as a small Branch (less than 250 members) we are proud of the amount we collect.
The final grand total for recent years is as below;
- the 2009/10 Poppy year total was £8,955.69
- the 2010/11 total was £9,430.74
- the 2011/12 total was £10,363.65
- the 2012/13 total was £9,860.58
- the 2013/14 total was £8,553.22
- the 2014/15 total was £6,382.47
- the 2015/16 total was £6,083.04
- the 2016/17 total was £6,122.99
If you want to help us, don't forget that the Poppy collection happens all year round, so any help with raffles, fund-raising or just plain donations would be very welcome.
So well done to everybody involved, especially our Collectors, and a big Thank You to all the contributors who have been so generous again.
