As in previous years, this year the Pawlett Royal British Legion Branch held a Cheese & Wine evening for our local Poppy Collectors. The evening is not only an opportunity for the Collectors to meet each other, but is also a way for us to say "thank you" for all their efforts. We also use the evening to present any long-service awards that are due to our Collectors. In 2013 we had a very good turn-out from all of the areas that Pawlett Branch covers, including East Huntspill, Puriton, Stetcholt and Woolavington, and over forty people attended.
Below are some pictures from presentations made at the 2013 evening, held at the Pawlett Royal British Legion Club in June. The Pawlett Branch Chairman, Mr Dennis Herniman, made the presentations.
As well as those shown below, Mo Retford of Woolavington became eligible for her Ten Year Certificate, and Anna Brakes also of Woolavington became eligible for her Twenty Five Year Certificate, but unfortunately neither could attend.

An incredible achievement of a FIFTY YEAR certificate was to be presented to Norah Wall of East Huntspill, but regrettably Mrs Wall passed away earlier this year. However the achievement was so momentous that we still wished the Certificate to be presented, and it is here received by her daughter, Sarah. |
