Market Harborough

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Market Harborough Branch, working alongside Harborough District Council, has for many years undertaken responsibility for organising the Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service at St Dionysius Church followed by wreath laying at the War Memorial in the Square.

On Armistice Day we hold a short wreath laying ceremony by the Gates of the Memorial Gardens. Again, organised by the Branch but supported by RNA and RAFA members, the ceremony includes the Act of Homage, two Minutes Silence, a brief service and wreath laying.
