Army Air Corps Museum and Winchester 2000

The Hamilcar was enormous. For ex-glider pilot, member Bernard Halsall, the visit brought back many memories.	This picture is in the Green Howards Museum. With Churchill is Lt Col Hignett commander of the elite Phantom Force. For some years, Col Hignett was  our Branch President.

Battlefields of France & Belgium

With County Standard Bearers' Association on their biennial visits. Branch Standard Bearers usually attend and other members sometimes accompany them as in 1993 and 2005. A few members went to Ypres in 2009.

Beaumanor Hall Annual "Music for a Summer Evening" Concerts

Branch Standard Bearer usually attends. Groups of members and guests have attended as was the case in 2000, when these photos were taken.

Standard Bearers and Cadets form up then march to the stage where the orchestra is ready to start the concert.	Everyone brings a picnic but some prefer a four- course dinner!
The climax of "Music for a Summer Evening" is a bit like the last night at the Proms	Union Jacks are available and used to create that patriotic flavour to the event.

Bletchley Park 2002

On the day of our visit, in addition to the Museum House and Huts being open, there was a WW2 Re-Enactment event. Nostalgic for some of us!

Motor cycling MPs lead a contingent of US troops	A mini- motorcycle (as dropped by parachute) follows a period civilian car.
War-time fashions included carrying a gas mask	A lone piper ends the parade.

Canal Outings
