Thank you for being a Member of the Royal British Legion. As a result of a motion passed at this year’s National Conference regarding Membership fees, due to the constant increases in the cost of living it has become necessary to increase this year’s Membership fee from €25.00 to €27.00 for members of the Malta Branch with effect from 4^th September 2024. Renewing your membership means you will continue to be part of a global network of likeminded people dedicated to supporting our Veteran community.

For over 100 years the Malta Branch of the Royal British Legion has been working hard supporting our veterans and their dependants in need, as well as ensuring that as the custodians of Remembrance and peace we continue to champion that cause in the Maltese islands. Apart from the annual service of Remembrance (Poppy Day), we actively take part and proudly parade our Standard and lay wreaths in several annual Veteran Forces Organisations commemorative services to honour and remember those who gave up their lives for our freedom.

This year we have also been proudly entrusted with holding the commemorative service of the 82^nd anniversary of the Santa Marija Convoy. This prestigious and symbolic national event was held on Pinto Wharf in Valletta on the 13^th August and was held under the patronage of H.E the President of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono. Wreaths were laid at sea by several members of the diplomatic corps and service organisations. This event received extensive TV and social media coverage and raised the awareness of the Malta Branch of the Royal British Legion in Malta.

In addition, we have been very active on the social front, with what has now become an annual event; that of the popular spring gala dinner and dance held at the Weston Dragonara Resort on in aid of the poppy Appeal campaign on the 3^rd May 2024. Furthermore, we managed to organise an Armed Forces Day lunch at the Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club on 19^th May 2024. Your committee continues to work hard to ensure that our branch is firmly in the public eye with constant updating of events on FB and our website.
