Malmesbury Branch have had close ties with our local Armed Forces Units based in the surrounding area. The RN at Bath, the RAF at RAF Lyneham and our local Garrison at Hullavington, which is presently home to a Gurkha regiment. When it was announced that ''our'' Gurkhas were to serve in Afghanistan the Members decided to send a small bag of suitable items during their tour of duty. So well supported was this appeal, donations came from all over the SW of England, that when the deployment was extended a second delivery was possible.
