Little Common

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Little Common Branch members assemble at St Mark's Church car park at 10.30am (approx) following a Church Remembrance service, and parades to the War Memorial where the Two Minute Silence is held at 11am during a short Act of Remembrance and wreaths are laid, after which the Parade marches to the Poppy Club for buffet refreshments; all invited.

Unless 11 November happens to fall on a Sunday, members also meet at the War Memorial at 10.45am on 11 November for the Two Minutes Silence and a short Act of Remembrance.

In 2024, Remembrance Sunday was the 10th November. (Pictures by Derek Canty)
