We welcomed our first speaker for 2017 Kevin Havelock and his son Alan who provided a very informative talk on first aid and the use of a defibrillator. The demonstration of the defibrillator was very enlightening and shew us that to use one is not as daunting as we first thought.
Here's some facts we learnt
✔ You can use a defibrillator on anyone aged over one year.
✔ Using an AED in the minutes before an ambulance arrives can double someone’s chances of survival.
✔The machine analyses someone’s heart rhythm and then uses visual or voice prompts to guide you through each step.
