Hardwicke and District Royal British Legion Club is a social club for members of the Hardwicke and District Branch of The Royal British Legion. Club membership is offered as an option to all Branch members for a small yearly administration fee.
The club moved to its present location at Green Lane, Hardwicke, Gloucester in 1968 when members purchased a surplus wooden hut from the RAF at Innsworth.
Today's modern club was built by members themselves in 1991, some having put up their homes as collateral to ensure sufficient funds were available to build the new club.
The club houses a modern bar, refurbished function room, a small lounge and two skittle alleys. A new large 21st century kitchen and office facilities were added in 2011. This was made possible through a donation to the Branch by international logistics company UPS. This was to enable the Branch to continue offering services such as "The Tuesday Club" to members of our Branch and community. This fantastic facility has also enabled Branch functions such as our "Burn's Night" and "Gloucester Night" to run smoothly and successfully.
The club is also the headquarters of the Hardwicke and District Branch as well as a base for the local community groups such as the Army cadets.
The main bar area features live sports on a big screen, darts, poker and music as well as a large selection of quality beers, lagers and spirits including real ale.
The Club skittle alleys host teams from local leagues with games played throughout the week and summer.
Our club has a fully refurbished Function Room available for hire to members for a very competitive price. Ask at the bar for details.
To join the club you must be a member of Hardwicke and District Branch of The Royal British Legion.
