Spider's Challenge

Hello fellow members and all supporters of the Poppy Appeal and Royal British Legion.

My name is Paul "Spider" Brenton, I am a serving member of both the British Army (40 in March) and the Hardwicke & District  RBL Branch.

My Royal British Legion  Ice Hockey Marathon Challenge is aimed at firstly raising awareness of the good work the Royal British Legion does throughout the year and secondly to raise as much money as I can for both the Royal British Legion and the Poppy Appeal.

My Challenge is in two parts:

CHALLENGE PART - 1

I will be entering the Gloucester Marathon (My First One) on 20 Jan 13.  Dressed in Full Ice Hockey Kit including stick.  I will run the course with a Royal British Legion wreath strapped to my back for the entire race, to firstly raise awareness of The Legion and to also honour the fallen.

At no stage will I be allowed to remove my helmet, drop my stick or remove the wreath!

CHALLENGE PART 2

I will be entering the London Marathon in Apr 13.  This time, not only will I be wearing the same Ice Hockey kit, but I have registered with the Guinness World of Records, and I am attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest Marathon dressed in full Ice Hockey kit.

The current record set in 2010 is 4 Hours and 30 minutes.

Please support Spider in raising as much as possible for our Poppy Appeal and in becoming a world record breaker!
