Branch member Aaron Gargett will be attempting to reach the summit of Mount Snowdon on the 71st Anniversary of “D Day” He will do this with a Tumble dryer strapped to his back. Shaun Perril his partner in crime will be carrying an ironing board and iron to enable a photo opportunity at the top for some “extreme ironing!”  This is all in aid of The Poppy Appeal. If they  make it back to “Base Camp” they will be rewarded with a BBQ and a couple of beers. A whacky idea indeed but we like to have fun at Hardwicke & District Branch.

Tumble Dryer Man

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

On Saturday 6th June 2015, the 71st anniversary of "D Day" I will walk to the summit of Mount Snowdon and back down to our base camp with a Creda tumble dryer strapped to my back!

Why??

"Because it's there!" of course!

During this challenge I will be supported by family and friends who will also be carrying various laundry accessories which will include an iron and ironing board for a touch of extreme ironing once at the top!

in doing this whacky challenge I am hoping to raise a few pennies for The Royal British Legion, a charity close to my heart. The Legion actively supports our lads and lasses in the armed forces and veterans every single day of the year.

What I am doing on the anniversary of "D Day" comes no where near to what our veterans did for us and what our serving personell do every day. I would therefore ask that you consider giving a few pennies or even a couple of pounds to this worthy charity and support my challenge.

I haven't set a total, as I will be happy with any amount raised. Every penny is a bonus. I would ask that you share this events with friends over social media and amongst fellow members of The Royal British Legion.

I have been an active member of The Legion for a number of years and a member of Hardwicke & District Branch in Gloucestershire.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me here and donations will be quickly processed and passed to The Royal British Legion.  Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

All the Best

Aaron
